Hey there! I am so pumped you’ve visited Freely Mi! I started this blog in February 2014 with the name “Adventure Culture,” as a way to document the everyday experiences that were re-shaping and redefining my life. A few years prior, I had moved 1,400 miles away from home with nothing but three suitcases and one friend…that friend became my husband in 2013 and life continued evolving in exciting ways. As things changed, so did my content, so I rebranded as Freely Mi in January 2016.
I am originally from Nebraska, and spent 20+ years as a competitive and professional dancer. I graduated in 2010 with a degree in Journalism and transitioned out of Corporate America in 2015. For nearly three years I have worked as a freelance writer, photographer and blogger.
After getting married in 2013, Ben and I finally got our passports and started traveling the world. He’s into all things extreme and has introduced me to activities like surfing, snowboarding and motocross. In return, I share my love for plant-based eating, art and yoga. Together we have launched exciting projects, dabbled in new languages, and started exploring new activities at sea including sailing and snorkeling!
It’s our passion to pursue a more freeing, fruitful and fulfilling lifestyle. The stories I share on Freely Mi are inspired by this pursuit and it’s my hope that they encourage you to do the same.
