As mentioned in part 1 of this post, I feel that setting measurable short and long-term goals increases our odds of success. These measurable goals hold us accountable and give us parameters for making changes and improvements. Since part one was all about my short-term goals, part two is dedicated to my BIG daddy, long-term goals…
3. Travel Journalism – The grand goal to experience the world is a passion I believe I share with countless others, however, my ambition has uniquely defined characteristics. Culture – “The arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively.”
- Subject – Loving People – The United States has established what I call Mutt Culture: A blending of backgrounds and loosened traditions. As traditions fade, generations lose cultural identity and authenticity. Dehydrating pure experiences, the naievite of the average American is increasingly disheartening; this is why I find preserving the integrity of world cultures intriguing and necessary.
- 50 countries by age 50 – I have just over 20 years to accomplish this goal. Dreaming BIG is one theme of this blog and I hope to be a positive example of diligent pursuit. Through continuous development of writing skills and experiments behind a camera, I hope to be funded and published by my 30th birthday. Passion, skill and drive are necessary fundamentals…but practice makes perfect and experience is the greatest teacher.
4. Write A Book – No need to elaborate here. This is a serious goal and a legacy I hope to leave as an ambassador. Bold lives require bold action and where I fall short, I lean on faith. Share your aspirations and goals with me in the comments section or on twitter & instagram – @freelymi
