Fall is always a big season for Nebraska family portraits. A friendly disposition and the changing of seasons are two things that keep people here, in the Midwest. To be honest, the in-between seasons are short in Omaha. We don’t have many weeks of the blissful spring and fall seasons, and both seem to cut into the coveted summer weather. A windy week can shorten the flowering spring and fall colors to just a few weeks, which is why so many families rush to capture them while they’re live!
Something I love about being an Omaha family photographer is the ability to document loved ones as they evolve and celebrate special events. While 2020 has been crazy, to say the least, it has been a bitter-sweet family photography season. Maintaining social distance through my lens has helped me feel connected to others while still prioritizing our health.
I’ve said in a recent Facebook post that it’s these in-between moments that I focus on during family portraits. “It’s the in-between moments that are my favorite! I don’t know about you, but when we look back at family portraits, it’s not the posed smiles that we love most. It’s the “action” shots or sweet moments captured when we’re simply being a family.”
