So, the last few weeks have been tough. Grief would feel consuming if I didn’t have hope or choose to find joy in each day…like through photography, painting, good coffee, wild flowers, homemade recipes, great music, traveling and tinkering with nostalgia. There’s so much more to enjoy in this world than there is to criticize or hate.

My grandfather left a strong impression that I have been pondering more this week than before. His legacy feels like a lot like a call to action to live an honorable life and love people better.

A good friend shared some soothing wisdom with me yesterday. She said, “Grief has no timeline.” This is so true. Thankfully, my grief doesn’t have to be all consuming or derail my days because my hope is in a good God who greets all who love Him with his peaceful presence when we leave our earthly tents, and my ‘cloud of witnesses’ will be filled with the people I loved who left before me. His hospice nurse told me she asked him if he still talks to Jesus, and he replied, “Every day.” This life will pass like a breath, and we shouldn’t take it for granted. When I go, he’ll be there. ❤️

I was wingin it with this pasta recipe! 😋 I wanted a kind of creamy lemon-garlic pasta, but the sauce had to be dairy-free and clean. I used gluten-free chickpea pasta & topped with sun dried tomatoes, chopped parsley & crushed crutons for a breadcrumb garnish. Good call!

Let’s make lunch! 🌯 The best foods aren’t complicated. Some of my favorite meals are just vegetables with olive oil and sea salt. This has been one of my favorite wraps lately. If you’re a BLT or club sandwich fan, but want to give plant-based eating a try (and you should) this will do it for you. I made Ben’s with romaine lettuce between toasted Dave’s Killer Bread (21 seed). A *little* avocado oil mayo, avocado, thick Roma tomato slices, sea salt and black pepper, and a handful of spinach. That’s it!

So, the last few weeks have been tough. Grief would feel consuming if I didn’t have hope or choose to find joy in each day…like through photography, painting, good coffee, wild flowers, homemade recipes, great music, traveling and tinkering with nostalgia. There’s so much more to enjoy in this world than there is to criticize or hate.

My grandfather left a strong impression that I have been pondering more this week than before. His legacy feels like a lot like a call to action to live an honorable life and love people better.

🪴This sound was too funny not to use.🪴Pruning & fertilizing day! I keep a mason jar under the sink with coffee grounds, cinnamon & mineral water. About once a month, I add it to my watering can to give my plants a natural boost! (Bonus: it works as a natural insecticide too.)
